Xiaomi Shares Mi 5s Camera Samples, Fingerprint Scanner Info

The Xiaomi Mi 5s is one of the most talked-about smartphones lately. This is Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone, and we’ve seen tons of details leak thus far. Earlier today, we’ve shared some leaked images of the device, along with its retail packaging, and some hints that the phone might sport the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Well, it seems like recent ultrasonic fingerprint scanner leaks were spot on, as the company more or less confirmed that such a scanner will be included on the device via their latest teaser, read on.

If you take a look at the image above this article, you’ll get to see the company’s latest teaser. This more or less indicates that we’re looking at the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner here, and chances are this is Qualcomm’s Sense ID technology that Xiaomi will include in their new flagship. This essentially means that the fingerprint scanner will be placed below the glass, so a separate button (physical or not) is not necessary here, and if the latest leak is to be believed, that sensor will be placed below the display. Now, in addition to this teaser, the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, has shared some additional camera samples from the Xiaomi Mi 5s. The company’s CEO shared one image a couple of days ago, and this time around we get to see 5 additional ones, which certainly reveal more info about the phone’s camera capabilities. From these camera samples, which are available in the gallery down below, we can see that the phone is quite capable of capturing reflections and colors really well, as these images are, allegedly, not tampered with (though they have been resized). The phone seems to be capable of holding its own even when the sun is hitting its lens directly, as you can see in the last image available down below.

Now, the Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to ship in a couple of variants, all of which will sport 6GB of RAM, though they will come sporting different internal storage options, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB native storage variants have been mentioned. Rumors are saying that the highest-end model (256GB of storage) will ship under the Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus name, and that it might sport a ceramic back cover. That being said, all the Xiaomi Mi 5s variants are rumored to sport a 5.15-inch fullHD display, a 3,490mAh battery and a pressure sensitive display. The 16-megapixel 4-axis OIS camera will be placed on the back of this phone it seems, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on the device, along with the company’s MIUI 8 OS.
