The Mi Note 2 is Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phablet which is expected to arrive either this or next month. This handset has been leaking out for months now, as many people were expecting Xiaomi to release it in the first half of this year, but that did not happen. In any case, we’ve seen quite a few Mi Note 2 rumors and leaks recently, the company’s CEO said that the device will ‘surprise us’, while the phone itself leaked yesterday with a vertical dual camera setup. That being said, a new rumor has just surfaced, let’s see what it says.
This rumor comes from a China-based analyst, Pan Jiutang, and it suggests that the Mi Note 2 could be more expensive than people are expecting it to be. Xiaomi is well-known for making high-end smartphones which are usually quite affordable, the Mi 5, Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus are all great examples. Well, if this rumor is to be believed, the Mi Note 2 will cost at least 4,000 Yuan ($600), and it seems like Pan Jiutang is referring to the base model. Now, if this is true, then this could be the most expensive handset by Xiaomi, ever, and with the Galaxy Note 7 out of the picture, Xiaomi could push towards that category with their latest phablet. The Mi Note 2 is rumored to sport curved display sides, similar to what the Galaxy Note 7 had to offer, and the phone will be similar to the Galaxy Note 7 in terms of size as well.
Having that in mind, the Mi Note 2 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 6GB of RAM and a couple of internal storage variants. This phablet will be fueled by the Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core processor, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. Two rear-facing cameras will probably be included on the back of this device, and we’re expecting to see either two 12-megapixel or 13-megapixel sensors back there, along with the LED flash. The device will be made out of metal and glass, and a ceramic back variant is also a possibility, though we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
