The Meizu PRO 6s has been leaking like crazy for the last couple of weeks. This is Meizu’s upcoming handset, and judging by a number of leaks and even an official image that Meizu’s VP released, this handset will look (almost) identical to the Meizu PRO 6. The Meizu PRO 6s will be fueled by one of MediaTek’s processors, though it is likely it won’t be the Helio X20 or X25, at least if rumors are to be believed. In any case, the company had scheduled an event on October 31st quite recently, and we presumed that the Meizu M5 will be introduced at that event, and were wondering whether Meizu plans to release the Meizu PRO 6s as well. It seems like Meizu is planning a separate event for the Meizu PRO 6s, at least judging by the latest info, read on.
If you take a look at the image down below, you’ll get to see what seems to be Meizu’s official event invite for the Meizu PRO 6s event. According to this invite, the device will be announced on November 3rd, and the event is starting at 5PM (local time). The Meizu PRO 6s will be made out of metal, just like its predecessor, and it will resemble the Meizu PRO 6 quite a bit, at least if we look at the phone from the back. Now, the latest leak said that this phone will ship with MediaTek’s MT6796 SoC (currently unknown model), which is not the Helio X20 (MT6797), nor the Helio X10 (MT6795), which makes us wonder what are Meizu’s plans here. Having that in mind, it is possible that the leak was completely off, and that we’re looking at the Helio X20 or Helio X25 here, as it would make sense for Meizu to refresh their Meizu PRO 6 flagship and release a device that is at least slightly more powerful, especially considering that the Meizu PRO 7 is out of the picture.
Meizu was supposed to introduce the Exynos 8890-powered Meizu PRO 7 phablet at the end of this year, and that phone was supposed to ship with a curved display, but the company’s VP said that the device won’t launch until next year, and we probably won’t see an Exynos-powered Meizu device this year either, which managed to disappoint quite a few consumers. In any case, the Meizu PRO 6s is coming soon, so stay tuned.
