Metal-Clad Xiaomi Mi 5c Leaks With 3GB Of RAM & MIUI 8

Xiaomi had introduced a number of smartphones this year, and those were mostly entry-level and mid-range ‘Redmi’ devices. Now, Xiaomi did release three high-end smartphones as well, the Xiaomi Mi 5 had landed back in February as the company’s flagship for 2016, and two additional premium offerings were introduced last month, the Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. The Xiaomi Mi 5s is a successor to the Mi 5, kind of, while the Mi 5s Plus is the company’s flagship phablet, at least until they release the Mi Note 2.

That being said, yet another ‘Mi 5’ smartphone has just leaked, the Mi 5c, which is also called the Xiaomi ‘Meri’, that is its codename, allegedly. Now, if you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll notice that this is an all-metal smartphone, and that is front side resembles the Mi 5 quite a bit, it actually seems identical at first. Now, the back side is a completely different story, however, it is not made out of glass or ceramic, but metal, and it is actually reminiscent of the iPhone 5(s). The physical home key is placed below the display, and it is quite thin, as it is on the Xiaomi Mi 5, while you’ll notice that it is flanked by two capacitive dots, those are two capacitive keys which are programmable inside of Xiaomi’s MIUI OS, we’re looking at back and overview buttons here. You’ll also notice that the phone’s power / lock and volume rocker keys are placed on its right-hand side.

Now, if you take a look at the last image in the gallery, you’ll also get to see the Xiaomi Mi 5c’s alleged specifications. This smartphone is expected to ship with 3GB of RAM and MIUI 8 which is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This particular unit has 64GB of internal storage, and it is fueled by MediaTek’s octa-core processor running at 2.2GHz (Helio P10 or Helio P20). Now, the source also claims that the phone will sport a 5.5-inch display with a sheet of curved 2.5D glass on top of it. 4G LTE connectivity will also be a part of this package, and the phone is expected to cost somewhere between $180 and $220.
