Nokia, as many of you know, was once the largest cellphone manufacturing company in the world. Over the years, the company had made a number of wrong moves, from sticking with their Symbian and MeeGo operating systems, to laying in bed with Microsoft, which resulted in serious issues for the company. Nokia’s Devices and Services business was first sold to Microsoft, and then Microsoft sold it to Foxconn earlier this year. Foxconn had promised that new Nokia smartphones will be introduced in the near future (though HMD Global will manufacture them it seems), and that they will be powered by Android. That being said, the Nokia D1C smartphone has been surfacing on various benchmarking sites lately, and the Nokia P1 had leaked as well.
Having that in mind, the Nokia D1C has just popped up on yet another site, GFXBench. Now, this time around, though, we seem to be looking at a tablet, not a smartphone, as this device sports a 13.8-inch display, at least that’s what GFXBench reports. According to the website, the device will feature a fullHD display, along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel this tablet, and the Adreno 505 GPU will be included here as well. The 16-megapixel camera will be placed on the back of this device, and an 8-megapixel snapper will be available up front. Android 7.0 Nougat will come pre-installed on this device, and on top of it, we’ll probably get Nokia’s Z Launcher.
Now, this listing seems quite fishy, as these are more or less specs that we’re expecting the Nokia D1C smartphone to sport. It is possible that GFXBench is reporting a wrong display size for the device, and that this is actually a smartphone, not a tablet. We’ll have to wait and see what happens once Nokia announces this device, even though we’re still not sure when will that happen. Nokia is expected to introduce at least one smartphone before the end of this year, and if this listing accurate, we might get a tablet as well. In any case, stay tuned for more info, we’ll report back soon.
