Xiaomi has been one of the most active smartphone manufacturers this year, at least as far as smartphone releases go. This company had introduced a number of smartphones this year, and the latest two handsets they introduced are actually their new flagship devices. The company had introduced the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus handsets a couple of days ago, and it seems like the Mi Note 2 flagship phablet will be announced later this month. While we’re waiting for the Mi Note 2 to land, the company has announced yet another budget offering, the Redmi 3S Plus, read on.
This is actually a repackaged Redmi 3S that had been introduced in China earlier this year. The Redmi 3S Plus is s now available in India, and this is not exactly the first time Xiaomi re-releases one of its smartphones in India under a different name. This smartphone comes to India as an offline exclusive, which means it will be available only through offline channels, at least officially. Xiaomi is turning up the heat when it comes to offline sales, as they plan to open 1,000 offline stores by 2020, at least according to the company’s CEO, Lei Jun. That being said, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Plus is very affordable, it costs only Rs. 9,499 ($143) in India.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Plus sports a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage (expandable via a microSD card). This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 430 SoC, while a rather hefty 4,100mAh battery is also a part of this package, and it should provide you with more than enough juice during the day, as the Snapdragon 430 is not exactly a power-hungry SoC, and neither is the Redmi 3S Plus’ display. This is also a dual SIM smartphone, and it ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, while you’ll find Xiaomi’s custom MIUI OS on top of it. The Xiaomi Redmi 3S Plus is made out of metal, and it comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, while you’ll also notice that its speaker is placed on the back as well. There are three capacitive keys placed below this phone’s display, menu, home and back, respectively.
