The Samsung Galaxy C9 device has recently passed through the FCC certification process and at the same time, given us a look at the specification of the device. This model, which carries a designation of SM-C9000, now has an FCC ID of A3LSMC9000. The Galaxy C9 has been rumoured and leaked over the last few weeks and has been through both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certification processes too. At this juncture we do not know when, where or how much the Galaxy C9 will be released but the source website expects it to be released into the Chinese market by the end of October and into the Indian market by the end of the year. The estimated price in the Indian market is expected to be Rs. 27,999, or around $420.
In terms of specification, the dual SIM, LTE-equipped Samsung Galaxy C9 is based around a 6.0-inch, Full HD (or 1080p) resolution AMOLED panel. This gives the screen a sharpness of 367ppi. Behind this display there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, which is built at a 14nm process and features eight ARM Cortex-A53 application processors that may be clocked at up to 2.0 GHz. However, the GeekBench documentation shows that the device uses the Qualcomm Adreno 510 GPU whereas the Snapdragon 625 uses the Adreno 506 GPU. GeekBench also showed the device as coming with 6 GB of RAM. There’s a 16MP rear camera together with a 16 MP front facing unit, whereas Qualcomm’s reference material explains that the Snapdragon 625 supports up to a 13 MP front facing camera. GeekBench also reports that the device comes with 64 GB of internal storage plus support for up to 256 GB of external storage. Finally, the device is expected to ship with a 4,000 mAh internal rechargeable battery.
At this juncture, some of the reported specification of the new Galaxy C9 does not make sense and we may have to wait until Samsung officially release the device and provide clarification. However, it does appear likely that this is a mid-range Samsung Galaxy smartphone based around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset with a large AMOLED panel of 1080p resolution and a high capacity battery.
