Weekly Poll: Are You More Excited For The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 or Mi MIX?

This week was Xiaomi’s new phone launch event which has revealed some rather interesting new devices, both of which will be available in the near future. These devices are the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 as well as the Xiaomi Mi MIX, a slightly more flashy device which has almost no bezels, leaving nearly an edge to edge experience when working with the device. While the Mi Note 2 is certainly impressive, it’s hard to overlook a nearly bezel-free phablet device, because let’s not kid ourselves, there’s just something very appealing about a phone that has a screen which goes pretty much from edge to edge.

That being said, both phones seem to carry a very respectable set of hardware specifications. Beginning with the Mi Note 2, consumers are looking at a device which comes equipped with a 5.7-inch OLED display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) and the screen has curved edges. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor which is paired with an Adreno 530 GPU for the graphics, and it comes in two different variations – one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage space, and one with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space. If that wasn’t enough, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 also comes equipped with a 4,070mAh battery, an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 22.56MP rear-facing camera, and at the most it will cost around 3,499 Yuan for the global model.

As for the Xiaomi Mi MIX, the main draw is obviously the screen which has only one bezel that is fairly noticeable on the bottom edge, which is where the front-facing camera also resides. The Mi MIX comes with a larger screen size at 6.4-inches, and boasts a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio. It has a 4,400mAh battery inside which should be enough to keep it going all day, and it’s powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 CPU that’s in the Mi Note 2. This means that there’s an Adreno 530 GPU inside as well, which is going to make this device excellent for media consumption from movies to games. As for the memory, the Mi MIX steps things up a little bit, and uses 128GB for internal storage as the base model, which comes with 4GB of RAM, and then there’s the 256GB storage model which comes with 6GB of RAM. The price for the 256GB model is set at 3,999 Yuan. So, given the breakdown of the specs, the cost, and the looks, which phone are you more excited about?
