In the smartphone world where smartphones sporting larger screen sizes have somewhat become a standard, Samsung has now come up with a 4-inch entry-level smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime. Though the device has not officially announced by Samsung yet, it now appears that both Amazon and eBay have now the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime listed on their site in the US.
The unlocked Galaxy J1 Mini Prime is now available for purchase in the US from online retailers Amazon and eBay; on Amazon, the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime costs $89.99 while a top seller on eBay is offering the device at a retail price of $86.99. Speaking of the device, the Samsung Galaxy J1 Mini Prime is somewhat a smaller version of the Galaxy J1 Prime, which was launched back in January this year, but it features a more recent version of the software compared to the Galaxy J1 Prime, while other hardware is mostly similar, save for the screen size, SoC and battery capacity. Talking about the specifications, the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime features a 4-inch TFT display with a 480 × 800 resolution which works out to a 233 PPI pixel density. Powering the device up is a Spreadtrum SC9830 quad-core SoC with 4x A7 cores running at 1.2 GHz clock speed, while graphics are handled by the Mali 400MP2 GPU. The device packs 1 GB of RAM and has 8 GB of onboard storage and supports microSD cards to further expand the storage (up to 256 GB). For the optics, the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime features a 5.0-megapixel sensor on the back side with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash, while a VGA camera is placed on the front side of the device. To keep the show running, a non-removable 1,500 mAh battery is also included in this package. Connectivity wise, the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP, GPS and operates on 2G/3G networks, sadly there is no LTE support.
The Galaxy J1 Mini Prime comes running Android 6.0 Marshmallow version out-of-the-box with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface on top. If you’re residing in the US, and interested in picking up the Galaxy J1 Mini Prime, hit the link below.
