Xiaomi had introduced two new flagship phablets quite recently, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 and Xiaomi Mi MIX. The former is the company’s long-awaited phablet which sports a curved OLED display, and top of the line specifications, while the latter is their concept, ‘bezel-less’ phablet’. Having that in mind, both of these devices are already available in China, well, Xiaomi had started selling these two phones through flash sales, and they seem to be in high demand. That being said, the company did not introduce a flat-screened Xiaomi Mi Note 2, only a curved screen variant. Well, it seems like a flat-screened Mi Note 2 could be on the way after all, read on.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with a flat display just got certified in China, by TENAA. Thanks to TENAA’s listing, we now know not only what the phone looks like, but also what specs can we expect. Now, this device is similar to the already announced Xiaomi Mi Note 2, it even comes with identical specs. Aside from the flat display, this device looks identical to the already announced Mi Note 2, and the spec sheet is more or less identical as well, including the dimensions and weight, which is actually somewhat surprising. This variant of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 seems to be made out of metal and glass as well, and you’ll notice the home button below the display which doubles as a fingerprint scanner.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels this phone, along with the Adreno 530 GPU. The device sports a 5.7-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) OLED display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. The device comes with a 4,070mAh battery, and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will come pre-installed on this phablet, along with the company’s MIUI 8 OS. The 22.5-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of this phone, and an 8-megapixel shooter will be available on the device’s front side. This phablet will measure 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6mm, while it will weight 166 grams. The flat variant of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will be available in Black, Silver Blue, Pink and Gold color variants, if TENAA is to be believed. The first four images in the gallery down below show off the newly-certified Mi Note 2, while the 5th and 6th show off the difference between the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 with a flat display, and the one with a curved panel.
