ASUS had introduced quite a few ZenFone devices last year, including the ZenFone 2, ZenFone Zoom, ZenFone 2 Laser, etc. Well, the company did something similar this year as well, though we still haven’t seen all that many ZenFone 3 models. Having that in mind, a new ZenFone 3-branded smartphone seems to be on the way, the ZenFone 3 Zoom. This device will look considerably different than its predecessor if TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC) is to be believed, as the phone got certified by TENAA recently.
That being said, TENAA’s listing did reveal the phone’s specifications and its design, and the ZenFone 3 Zoom just got certified by the FCC as well. Do keep in mind that we cannot confirm that this is the ZenFone 3 Zoom just yet, but the phone sure looks like it, and it carries the same model number as the device that got certified by TENAA, even though we’re only presuming this is the upcoming ZenFone 3 Zoom handset. In any case, this certification hints that the ZenFone 3 Zoom could become available in the US at some point. The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is made out of metal, as you can see in the provided image, and it sports three capacitive buttons below the display. The company’s logo is placed on the back of this phone, and so is the dual camera setup, dual-LED flash and a fingerprint scanner. The phone might not look all that exciting, but it does pack in a solid spec sheet.
The ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 2GB / 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB / 64GB of native storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor, and comes with a rather big 4,850mAh battery pack. There are two 16-megapixel shooters included on the back of the ZenFone 3 Zoom, while you’ll find a 13-megapixel camera on the phone’s front side. 4G LTE is a part of this package, of course, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the device with the company’s ZenUI user interface. The phone is 7.99mm thick, and it will become available in Black, Gold and Silver color variants.
