Honor Magic's Display Could Be Curved On All Four Sides

Huawei’s Honor Magic smartphone has been all over the news lately. The company had announced a press event for December 16th, which is tomorrow, and judging by the teaser image the company shared, the Honor Magic seems to be ready to launch during that press conference. The Honor Magic will be the company’s ‘concept’ smartphone, their unique offering which is expected to compete with Xiaomi’s Mi MIX handset, at least in terms of screen-to-body ratio. We’ve seen all sorts of rumors when it comes to the Honor Magic, and even the phone’s alleged image surfaced recently.

We’re only a day away from Honor Magic’s announcement, and yet another rumor just surfaced. According to the new info, this smartphone will offer some surprises in terms of software, some unique features nobody was expecting. Kevin Wang, a China-based analyst, said that the device will run on Android, but that it will come with a number of new and unique features included in EMUI (Emotion UI), Huawei’s Android skin. Now, an industry insider, Mocha RQ, had something to say on the matter as well. He said that this could be the most controversial smartphone of the year, that it will offer a stunning design, and that its display will be curved on all four sides. All in all, it looks like the Honor Magic could be a really interesting smartphone for many reasons, and we’re only a day away from its announcement.

According to some previous info, the Honor Magic is expected to sport a 5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 4GB of RAM. The phone will, allegedly, ship with the Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core SoC, and not the latest Kirin 960 offering by Huawei. The Kirin 950 was utilized in the Huawei Mate and Honor 8, while the Kirin 960 came in Huawei’s latest flagships, the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 9. On the back of the Honor Magic, you can expect to see a 12-megapixel dual camera setup, at least based on rumors. The 2,900mAh battery will be included on the inside of this phone, and you can also expect to see a fingerprint scanner included on the device. The phone is rumored to be quite expensive, and even though it might not cost as much as a recent listing suggested ($1,442), it might be quite pricey.
