Huawei’s Honor sub-brand had released several smartphones this year, with the Honor 8 being the most powerful amongst them. Well, it seems like that’s about to change in the near future, as Honor plans to reveal a new smartphone on December 16th. The company had already released a teaser for the event, and it seems like we’re getting a truly innovative phone from Honor this time around, at least if rumors are to be believed.
Huawei’s exec confirmed that this phone will sport the company’s all-new fast charging technology, and rumors are saying that the device will sport no physical buttons, and that it will ship with peripherals considering it won’t include some core ports / functions regular smartphones offer. The device will allegedly be called the Honor Magic, and the phone itself leaked quite recently actually. Judging by the leaked image, the device will ship with a really high screen-to-body ratio, and offers a really appealing design. Having that in mind, some additional info regarding this handset just surfaced. According to a new rumor, the phone will ship with the Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Huawei’s flagship SoC for 2015, and the same chip Honor 8 is rocking. This info actually goes hand-in-hand with some info that surfaced earlier today, so it seems like this won’t be the most powerful smartphone Huawei had ever released, but it might be the most powerful Honor-branded device, or at the very least the most interesting one.
In addition to the SoC info, the device is said to sport 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The 5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display will allegedly be a part of the package as well, and the device will sport a dual camera setup on both its front and back side. The Honor Magic is also said to support a 5V / 8A fast charging, which translates into 40W charging. Now, for comparison’s sake, the Huawei Mate 9 offers 25W fast charging, so this is a considerable improvement. The Honor Magic will ship with a 2,900mAh battery, if the rumor is to be believed, and it seems like this is Huawei’s all-new graphene-assisted Li-ion battery. On top of all this, the latest rumor says that the Iris scanner might be a part of the Honor Magic package as well. The codename Huawei and Honor are allegedly using for this handset is ‘Natasha’, and the announcement is only a week away.
