Rumor: Huawei Mate 9 Will Launch In The US On January 6th

Just over a month ago, Huawei announced its latest addition to its ‘Mate’ lineup, the Huawei Mate 9, which was launched alongside the Huawei Mate 9 Porsche Design in Munich. The device has since been released in several markets, including China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. According to Huawei, these countries would be the first wave of markets which will receive the device, and the company has stayed true to its word. While the US was not listed in the first wave of countries, it has now been reported that the country will be receiving the device soon.

Evan Blass or simply known as evleaks on Twitter, has tweeted this time around regarding the Huawei Mate 9 and its availability in the US. According to the tipster, the premium smartphone from Huawei will be available for purchase starting from January 6th of 2017 in the US, which is less than a month away. If this leak turns out to be the true, it will be success for Huawei considering it was reported not long ago that the company is having trouble in bringing the Huawei Mate 9 into the US. This is due to the unwillingness of wireless carriers in the US to cooperate with Huawei as the brand currently has a low brand recognition in the country. Other than the launch date, nothing else regarding the device such as the retail price and the variant the US is expected to receive was disclosed in the tweet.

If you would like a recap on the specs of the Huawei Mate 9, read on. The Huawei Mate 9 packs a large 5.9-inch fullHD 2.5D curved glass display.
