T-Mobile will reportedly launch a new mid-range LG smartphone fairly soon. That’s according to a tweet by tech journalist Evan Blass (@evleaks), who revealed on Twitter earlier today that the 2017 iteration of the LG K10 will be launched by the carrier as the LG K20 Plus. The device is yet to be announced officially by the South Korean manufacturer, but is rumored to be one of the six new devices expected to be announced by LG at the CES trade show next month in Las Vegas, Nevada. The first-generation K10, launched earlier this year, is already available on T-Mobile, and is priced at $175 at full retail. Pricing and availability details of the LG K20 Plus, however, remain a mystery as of now.
Taking a closer look at the LG K20 Plus, the device, as mentioned already, is expected to be a re-branded LG K10 (2017) if the tweet by Mr. Blass is anything to go by. There’s no specific info right now about whether the T-Mobile version will be any different from the unlocked model that is expected to be sold globally as the LG K10 (2017). While not a lot is known about the hardware specs of the LG K10 (2017), the device is likely to feature a 5.3-inch 720p display panel according to rumors floating around the internet. It is also expected to come with a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera on the front, while the rear is expected to house a fingerprint scanner and the volume rocker. The handset is also expected to come with a 2.5D curved glass on both the front and back.
While it isn’t clear when T-Mobile will make the LG K20 Plus available for purchase, the LG K10 (2017), as mentioned earlier, will reportedly be made official at the CES trade show next month alongside a bunch of other handsets from the company. According to what we’ve read about the upcoming devices, they will all be entry-level and mid-range smartphones aimed at the pre-paid market for the most part. Alongside the LG K10 (2017), the devices that are expected to be made official at next month’s event include the 2017 iterations of the LG K3, K4, K8, X Calibur and Stylus 2.
