Earlier this year, Samsung introduced a new lineup of smartphones to the Chinese market, which was the “Galaxy C” series. The lineup initially consisted of two smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy C5 and the Samsung Galaxy C7, while the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro was launched in October. However, not long after the lineup was first revealed, rumors have been going around stating that the South Korean company has two new additions to the lineup in the works, both of which will be upgraded versions of the Galaxy C5 and the Galaxy C7, and will be called “Pro” versions. Now, the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro has received its Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance.
The Wi-Fi certification process has revealed that the Galaxy C7 Pro will be supporting dual-band Wi-Fi, that is the common 2.4GHz frequency, as well as 5.0GHz frequency. The documentation also shows the model number of the upcoming handset, which is SM-C7010. This model number has been seen in other documents, including ones from benchmarking website GFXBench and Zauba, a website which tracks India’s import and export. Just yesterday, it was rumored that Samsung has delayed the launch of the Galaxy C7 Pro which will now be launched alongside the Galaxy C5 Pro, in early January of 2017, and no longer in December which was previously rumored.
When it comes to the rest of the specs of the device, the Galaxy C7 Pro has been rumored to sport a large 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The GFXBench listing has stated that the device will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor, which is coupled with the Adreno 506 GPU to handle graphics. The device looks to be coming with 4GB of RAM along with 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, if the leaks are true, of course. For optics, it has been reported that the upcoming smartphone will pack a 16-megapixel camera for both the front and the back of the device. It is also expected that the device will be powered by a 3,300mAh battery. These specs cannot be confirmed yet until Samsung officially announces the device, which shouldn’t be too long from now.
