Android 7.0 Nougat is, next to Android 7.1 Nougat, Google’s latest build of Android OS. Google had released Android 7.0 Nougat a couple of months ago, and not many devices received this update just yet. Android 7.0 Nougat brings tons of improvements to Android, including some really useful features, like a more robust notification shade, always on Doze mode, etc. That being said, Sony reacted really fast when it comes to updates this year, as their Xperia X Performance handset already started receiving Android 7.0 Nougat yesterday.
It was just a matter of time before the company’s new flagship, the Xperia XZ, gets the same treatment, and we’re glad to say that Android 7:0 Nougat is now rolling out to the Xperia XZ as well. This update comes in the form of a build number 39.2.A.0.327 for both the Xperia XZ (F8331) and Xperia XZ Dual (F8332). In addition to the always on Doze and the improved notification shade, the update also includes the multi-window support and customizable quick settings, amongst other things. The update is rolling out to unlocked Sony Xperia XZ devices in specific regions, though more regions will get it in the coming days, so as long as your Xperia XZ is unlocked (you didn’t purchase it through a carrier), chances are you’ll get this update sometime soon.
The Sony Xperia XZ is a rather interesting smartphone, it looks really nice, though the overall build of it is different than what we’re used to seeing these days, which is not necessarily a bad thing, of course. This smartphone sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage. The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 64-bit quad-core SoC, and a 2,900mAh battery is included here as well. On the back of this phone, you’ll be able to find a 23-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture, 24mm lens), while there’s a 13-megapixel snapper placed on the front side of this smartphone. The Sony Xperia XZ actually comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box, in case you were wondering.
