Motorola Mobility is no longer Google’s company, Lenovo had acquired the company from Google quite some time ago, as you probably already know. Motorola had introduced quite a few devices under Lenovo’s arm up to this point, including their Moto Z and Moto Z Force 2016 flagship smartphones. Having that in mind, many people are wondering whether the company plans to introduce a new Moto X handset, or were the Moto X Play and Moto X Style the last Moto X-branded smartphones from the company. Well, it seems like a new Moto X smartphone will launch this year after all, at least if rumors and leaks are to be believed.
A number of Moto X (2017) rumors / leaks surfaced already, and a new one just popped up. Two new real life Moto X images appeared online, and are giving us a really good look at the company’s upcoming smartphone. Now, if this truly is the upcoming Moto X handset, then it will look completely different than its predecessors, that’s for sure. The bezels are quite thick on this phone, while the fingerprint scanner is placed below the display, as you can see. The power / lock and volume rocker physical keys are located on the right-hand side of this smartphone, and the device is made out of metal. Looking at the back of the device, you’ll notice Motorola’s logo, and above it sits the phone’s main camera which resembles the ones available on the Moto Z, Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play smartphones. The rear-facing camera protrudes on the back quite a bit, and the dual LED flash is placed right below the camera sensor.
So, is this leak accurate, is this really the Moto X 2017? Well, it is possible, it resembles some images which surfaced a while back, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens, of course. Now, if rumors are accurate, the phone will be available in Silver and Gold color variants, while it will ship with a 5.2-inch or a 5.5-inch display. We really don’t have any info when it comes to the rest of its specs, but chances are it will feature 3GB / 4GB of RAM and ship with either Android 6.0 Marshmallow or perhaps even Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with some additions by Motorola on top of Google’s operating system, of course.
