If you opt to purchase the Galaxy S7 Edge in the United Kingdom, you’ll get a free Gear Fit 2. Samsung recently announced this special promotion that’s running until February 28th and rewards all consumers who buy the Galaxy S7 Edge from one of many participating retailers in the country. Once you make your online or physical purchase, you have to register it on Samsung’s website linked below. A registered purchase allows you to file a request for a free Gear Fit 2. The consumer electronics manufacturer said that all eligible customers will receive an email confirming their request within 30 days of making it, after which the Gear Fit 2 will be shipped to them in the shortest possible period. People with a mainland address will likely receive their wearable a day after getting the confirmation email, while everyone else can expect the shipment to arrive in two to four days following a successful claim.
This offer is seemingly only valid for buyers of the Galaxy S7 Edge and not the regular Galaxy S7. Seeing how this smartphone is almost a year old now, Samsung is likely offering a free Gear Fit 2 with it to help UK retailers clear their old stock. Recent reports suggest the Galaxy S8 will be hitting the market at some point in April and most retailers are preparing for the launch of Samsung’s upcoming flagship by doing everything they can to reduce their Galaxy S7 Edge inventories. Due to that, consumers in the UK can possibly stumble on a Galaxy S7 Edge that a retailer has already bundled with some accessory like the Gear VR and subsequently request a free Gear Fit 2 from Samsung.
The wearable itself has mostly been positively received by both consumers and reviewers, most of whom were pleased with all of the improvements Samsung made on the original Gear Fit fitness tracker which launched in 2014. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will offer a similar incentive for buying the Galaxy S7 Edge in other European countries, as well. Regarding the Galaxy S8, the company’s next flagship Android device will supposedly be unveiled at a special event in New York City scheduled for April 18th.
