You Can Pre-Order The ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 Right Now

You can pre-order the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302 right now from Amazon, and if you were in the market for a new laptop or were considering upgrading your old Chromebook Flip model to the newer version you’ll be looking at a cost of $499. ASUS just recently announced the Chromebook Flip C302 this week during CES, so right now Amazon doesn’t have an actual ship date for the product and it’s temporarily listed as out of stock, but you can still place the orders  and Amazon will ship the item once it’s available so if you wanted to get a jump start on the process you can do so, when normally out of stock items can be purchased at all.

ASUS’ Chromebook Flip C302 is the next generation of the Chromebook Flip, and although it carries the same trait of the rotating 360-degree screen, it comes with a series of all-new hardware specifications and it has a slightly modified design and shape compared to the original model. While it has the same color as the first Chromebook Flip, the C302 model has a much more squared off shape, with a completely flat top and straight edges all the way around save the corners which are rounded. The design is actually quite similar to the Acer Chromebook R 13.

Another thing consumers will notice about this new model is that it has a metal body construction, so it should immediately feel like it has a premium finish. On the inside it’s premium too, as ASUS is using an Intel Core processor with 64GB of internal storage space, 4GB of RAM, and about a 10 hour battery life which may vary depending on how you use the laptop. Since this is a rotating display the Chromebook Flip C302 can be used in a variety of configurations, and can be used like a standard laptop style with the keyboard in front for typing. It can also be used in a tent mode if you’re simply wanting to watch videos or interact with its touchscreen display for things like Android apps, as this will have Play Store support, or you can also flip it around and lay it flat on the keyboard and interact with the touchscreen at an angle. Lastly, it can also be used just like a tablet and you rotate the screen the full 360-degrees so the lid and the bottom of the Chromebook are laying on top of each other. The display is Full HD and it’s 12.5-inches while weighing only 2.65 pounds, so it’s also extremely portable.
