CES 2017: Video Hands-On With The LG Stylo 3

LG’s Stylo 3 is here and it’s ready to provide a stylus to any consumer who feels like they’re lacking such a device in their day to day use. While firmly set in the mid-range, the LG Stylo 3 still has plenty to offer. It comes with the latest Android software version to date, which is Android Nougat, and it has a fairly large sized display as it sits at 5.7-inches. There are some users who may wish it had more than HD resolution to offer on a screen that big, but for many users and likely for those who will be looking at this mid-range device, HD resolution is likely to be more than fine for everyday needs and tasks, although consumers who prefer smaller phones can always opt for one of the devices from the K series.

As denoted by the “3” in the name of the device, this is LG third generation device in the Stylo series as they have been trying to compete with Samsung in the “phablet with a stylus” territory for a few years now. While all of LG’s new 2017 K Series phones come with processors from Qualcomm, the Stylo 3 comes with a MediaTek processor which, may be less known when it comes to mobile CPUs in the U.S., but the MediaTek 6750 inside here is capable of holding its own against other mid-range devices.

The processor gets help from the 3GB of RAM, and it features 16GB of internal storage space so it has plenty of room to start for holding all of your apps, games, media files, and documents. If 16GB isn’t enough, there is always the expandable storage to assist you. Although the Stylo 3 looks very much like its predecessors, it has a handful of improvements like the Pen Pop 2.0 feature, which helps to keep all of your notes within view so you never forget important details and you can access them quickly. Taking notes is easy too thanks to the stylus which has a 1.8mm diameter fiber-tip for improved accuracy when writing or drawing on the phone’s display.
