Specs have surfaced for Xiaomi’s trio of Mi 6 models, which is rumored to include an entry-level budget model that is powered by the MediaTek Helio X30 deca-core processor, as well as high-end and mid-range models that will both come powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship for this year, the Snapdragon 835 processor. Today’s leak seems to confirm these two CPU types as they do note that the Snapdragon 835 and the Helio X30 are to be used, but this is still just a rumor as these specifications have not been confirmed by Xiaomi themselves. Nevertheless, they do match up with the previous specs that have been mentioned before so there is a good chance that they could be correct.
According to the leak, Xiaomi’s three Mi 6 models will be called the Mi 6 Premier, the Mi 6 Standard, and the Mi 6 Youth, although it also notes that these are “working titles,” so the names of these three variants of Xiaomi’s 2017 flagship may not be finalized and they could change prior to their official announcement, which is expected to happen at Mobile World Congress. When it comes to the rest of the specs, the Mi 6 Premier is said to come with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage space, as well as dual rear-facing cameras albeit without any details on the quality of the sensors. The Mi 6 Premier is also to use a ceramic body and carry a Quad HD OLED display with dual curved edges on the screen, but with no mention of screen size.
The next step down which is the Mi 6 Standard, is said to come with a Quad HD OLED display as well although this time without the dual curved edges. It’ll have the same processor and graphics processor, but bump things down to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It will also carry dual rear-facing cameras although since there is no detail on any of them there is no way to know if they will be the exact same cameras that are to be used on the back of the Mi 6 Premier. The last model, which is listed as the Mi 6 Youth, is rumored to have 4GB of RAM as well, but again bump down the storage size internally, this time to 64GB. It’s also listed as having a dual rear-facing camera setup so perhaps Xiaomi is planning on using the same cameras for all three variants of the device, just as Google did with the Pixel and the Pixel XL. The device is thought to receive an announcement next month, with a launch following in March, so it won’t be too long before Xiaomi officially confirms the details of the Mi 6.
