Rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are swirling around like leaves in a windstorm. Today a Tweet was posted with a picture of how the front panels of the new devices will look. There are many speculations regarding the sizes, specs, renderings, and even leaked photos that claim to be the real deal. However, if you check out the leaked tweet today and the leaked photo of the actual device, you can see that they look very much alike, which could mean that the looks of the new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 are starting to firm up.
This tweet from today further lends an authenticity that there will be two sizes of the Galaxy S8 and that there will not be a flat-screened variation for the first time. Based on the rumors and speculation we are looking to see a Galaxy S8 with a 5.7-inch display and a Galaxy S8 Plus coming in at 6.2-inches – quite a bit larger than the current models. What is also exciting is that looking at the tweet, leaked renderings, and the ‘actual’ photo we see the new Galaxy S8 will have very small bezels on the top and bottom and practically none on the sides. This design gives it a futuristic and bold look, but also raises the estimated pricing.
The leaked information also points to Samsung finally getting rid of their infamous home button that so many have complained about over the years. This lack of a home button leads to the question as to whether the fingerprint sensor is on the display or mounted on the back of the device. After the trouble Samsung had in 2016 with the Galaxy Note 7, there is also speculation that the either one or both of the Galaxy S8 models will come with an S-Pen, essentially eliminating the need for a Galaxy Note 8. There have been some leaked cases for both models, with what looks like a cutout for an S-Pen silo. Whatever the final Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus look like, it will be exciting to see the final product. The Galaxy S series is Samsung’s bread-and-butter device, and they are going to make sure there are no snafus in its design and build. If the tweet and the leak of the actual device are real, it looks like they will have a winner on their hands.
