A new render of a case designed for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J7 (2017) has allegedly leaked showing off the device’s design in the process. With Samsung alleged to have set high unit shipment goals for the Galaxy J and Galaxy A (2017) lines, it’s no surprise that the company is putting everything it can into the lineups in order to differentiate them from the competition. With the Galaxy A (2017) line the company introduced a premium new design along with water-resistance. While not all details are known about the new Galaxy J (2017) line, from what can be seen in today’s case renders the company will be introducing a slightly refreshed design, as well as some premium features to the budget line.
Looking at the design, it’s fair to say Samsung is not doing a complete overhaul, with the overall shape not differing much from last year’s Galaxy J7 (2016). The changes are clearly only subtle, with the majority of changes being made at the rear. The camera sensor is now round – compared to last years square-shaped one – and there is now only a single-LED flash. With this year’s model, the speaker, which previously sat on the rear, appears to have been moved to the right side of the device, sitting slightly above the power button. Aside from this, when looking at the bottom part of the frame, the renders show off the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a micro-USB port which, according to the render, supports fast charging, something that until this year has been reserved for the company’s more premium models. One last thing that can be noted is that the company has included a bottom microphone as well as a second one on the top of the device, likely in order to provide noise-cancellation.
Previous rumors have pointed towards the device featuring a large 5.5-inch display with a Full-HD resolution. On the inside, the device is rumored to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery. Looking at the camera setup, the device is alleged to feature a 13-megapixel rear sensor along with a 5-megapixel selfie sensor. Regarding the software, it appears Samsung has opted to release the device with Android 7.0 Nougat, something that will surely please consumers. Nonetheless, with the lineup still to be released, anything could still change, though an official announcement is surely not too far off.
