According to a new rumor, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be somewhat more expensive than you might think. The company’s ‘Mi’ flagships usually cost 1,999 Yuan ($300) in China, well, at least the most affordable iterations of company’s flagships do, but it seems like that will no longer be the case. A new rumor claims that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be more expensive than that due to the fact Xiaomi plans to incorporate new materials into the device’s build, read on.
If this info is to be believed, the base model of the Xiaomi Mi 6 will cost 2,499 Yuan ($370), which is quite a considerable bump actually. Do keep in mind this is just a rumor at this point, so do take it with a grain of salt, but do keep in mind that the company increased the price of the two Mi TV models quite recently, so if that’s any indication of what’s to come, then this rumor might even be true. A recent rumor claimed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835, in fact, the rumor reported that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first Chinese smartphone to come with the Snapdragon 835. This processor was introduced by Qualcomm during CES 2017, and is the company’s all-new flagship mobile chip. We’re looking at a 64-bit octa-core processor which was manufactured using the 10nm process, and is considerably more powerful than its predecessors, the Snapdragon 820 and Snapdragon 821.
We don’t really have all that much info when it comes to the Xiaomi Mi 6 at the moment, but the device is rumored to arrive during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona which kicks off at the end of February. The Xiaomi Mi 5 actually landed during MWC 2016, so this rumor kind of makes sense. Aside for the Snapdragon 835, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will probably ship with Android Nougat, and you can expect the base model to sport at least 4GB of RAM, but the 6GB RAM model will almost certainly be available as well. The device is also rumored to look like a smaller variant of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, and if that info is accurate, the device will sport a curved display, and quite possibly a home button below the display.
