ASUS has just announced the ZenFone 3s Max in India. This is the company’s new big battery mid-ranger, and it is a direct successor to the ZenFone 3 Max that was introduced in India last year. The ZenFone 3s Max is made out of metal, and it comes with a front-facing fingerprint scanner. The phone is not exactly ground-breaking in terms of the design, as we’ve seen similar designs numerous times in the past, but it is certainly a compelling mid-range offering for those of you who are looking for a big battery smartphone.
First and foremost, it is worth mentioning that you can charge other smartphones / devices using the ZenFone 3s Max, which is a nifty feature to have. This smartphone sports a 5.2-inch 720p (1280 x 720) 2.5D curved glass display, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. This smartphone is fueled by the MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. A 13-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of this smartphone, and an 8-megapixel snapper can be found on the phone’s front side. This smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh battery on the inside, and that battery is not removable. Android 7.0 Nougat comes out of the box here, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find ASUS’ ZenUI 3.0 skin. There are two SIM card slots (2 x nano SIM) included in the ZenFone 3s Max, and we’re looking at a hybrid setup, which means that you’ll be able to use the second SIM card slot in order to expand your internal storage by using the microSD card.
ASUS’ newest mid-ranger comes in two color variants, Black and Gold. This smartphone is priced at Rs. 14,999 ($223) in India, which makes it a compelling offering for those of you who are looking to get a big battery handset in the country. The ASUS ZenFone 3s Max goes on sale today, and you’ll be able to purchase it through both offline and online retailers all over the country. The ZenFone 3s Max is not without competition, though, Xiaomi’s recently-introduced Snapdragon-powered Redmi Note 4 is a worthy competitor in India, even though it has a somewhat smaller battery (4,100mAh).
