The latest version of the Google Play Music app has hit the Play Store, and it has since been torn down to see what is inside this update. Usually when tearing down an APK, people can see what kind of features we may be seeing coming to the app in the near future. And this time around, it looks like Play Music is going to be integrating with the Clock that is installed on your smartphone. This means that you’ll be able to start playing music as an alarm, and more. This actually is about all that’s in the teardown this time around, there’s not much else hiding in there.
But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of other great features in the new version of Play Music. Perhaps the biggest feature is the fact that the APK has actually lost weight, the entire size of the app is smaller now. This is great news for those that don’t have much space on their smartphone, but do still want to listen to their favorite music. They have also added the Recents option to the drawer within the app. There is now an animated visualizer for albums and tracks that are playing. Finally, the team removed the Google Play branding that was present on the splash screen when the app was starting up. That means you are only getting the logo and a white screen as the splash screen now, not a huge update, and not a lot of things that people would notice, but it is an update nonetheless.
The update to the Google Play Music app is available on the Google Play Store right now. You can download it or update your version of Google Play Music right now. If you subscribe to Google Play Music Unlimited, these features will definitely be nice to use, especially the smaller APK size. If you don’t subscribe, you may want to check it out.
