OPPO is planning to announce some sort of a new smartphone photography tech at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The company reached out by teasing their new smartphone photography tech, though they did not exactly release all that much info just yet, we’ll have to wait for OPPO’s MWC 2017 press conference in order to get more detail. In their press e-mail, OPPO said that this tech will “give users unprecedented ability to capture highly detailed images”. This press conference will be held on February 27th in Barcelona, in case you were wondering.
Judging by OPPO’s words, this new tech seems really exciting, and it will definitely be interesting to see what is the company planning to announce. OPPO always put huge focus on smartphone photography, back in 2012 the company started the trend of beautification of selfie pictures, and they’ve been introducing ‘selfie’ smartphones for a while now. The company’s ‘OPPO F’ smartphones feature really capable front-facing shooters, and it seems like OPPO is ready to take things to the next level when it comes to camera tech. “This remarkable achievement is the result of an extensive, year-long R&D process, combined with OPPO’s unparalleled expertise in smartphone imaging technology,” said Sky Li, OPPO’s Vice President and Managing Director of International Mobile Business. He also added that he hopes that OPPO’s new tech can inspire the industry to “aim higher”, and offer great smartphone experience to consumers.
Some of you have probably heard of OPPO’s VOOC Rapid Charge fast charging tech, as it is one of the fastest fast charging technologies around, if not the fastest one. Based on this, and OPPO’s other achievements, the upcoming ‘5x’ project does sound really appealing. Is it possible OPPO plans to announce a smartphone that will ship with this tech during MWC 2017, or will they only talk about the technology itself? Well, the company did not really release any info regarding this, as they only mentioned the technology itself, not a smartphone of any kind, but it is possible that a new OPPO-branded phone will land during this year’s Mobile World Congress, we’ll see. In any case, stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as more info surfaces.
