Samsung is planning to reveal Galaxy S8’s launch date during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, at least if a new report is to be believed. This information comes from Korea, The Korea Economic Daily, to be more precise. This is a well-known publication in Samsung’s homeland, and they’re saying that the company will share Galaxy S8’s release date on February 27th, which is the day Samsung is hosting their MWC 2017 press conference in Barcelona.
Many of you probably already know that Samsung will not introduce the Galaxy S8 during MWC 2017, but will, instead, launch their new ‘Galaxy S’ tablet, the Galaxy Tab S3. This tablet will ship with Samsung’s S Pen stylus, at least if rumors / leaks are to be believed, and quite a bit of info about it surfaced recently as well. It seems like the Galaxy Tab S3 will be the star of the show for Samsung later this month, though the company is expected to announce some additional hardware as well. That being said, Samsung is also expected to share some teasers for the Galaxy S8’s launch, along with its launch date. So, when will Samsung introduce the Galaxy S8? Well, the company’s new flagship smartphone, and its larger variant, the Galaxy S8 Plus, are expected to be announced at the end of March or in early April, at least that’s what the most recent rumors have been suggesting.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be identical in terms of the design, at least according to rumors and leaks, though the Galaxy S8 Plus will be a larger device. The Galaxy S8 is expected to sport a 5.7-inch or a 5.8-inch display, while the ‘Plus’ variant is said to ship with a 6.2-inch or a 6.4-inch display, depending on which rumor you choose to believe in. Both devices will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, while Android Nougat will come pre-installed on both devices, with Samsung’s custom UI on top of it, of course. Chances are that Samsung plans to ditch the home button this time around, and judging by most recent leaks, bezels on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will be extremely thin.
