Xiaomi Mi 5c Hits 3C Certification In China, Coming Soon

The Xiaomi Mi 5c got certified in China, and is expected to launch in the near future. A ton of Xiaomi Mi 5c rumors surfaced in the last couple of months, but the company still did not launch this mid-range smartphone. Well, the phone has surfaced in China yet again, this time around it popped up on China’s 3C certification authority in five different variants, four of which will probably be shipped off to Chinese carriers, while the fifth one is an unlocked one, though we’re only guessing.

This listing reveals that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will ship with a 5V / 2A charger, which probably means we won’t be getting fast charging with this smartphone, unfortunately. This listing also reveals that the phone will offer 4G LTE connectivity, though that is more or less it as far as new details are concerned. The Xiaomi Mi 5c will be a direct successor to the Xiaomi Mi 4c which was announced way back in September 2015, and we still do not know when will this smartphone launch, but considering it got certified quite recently, it seems like Xiaomi might release it really soon. The Xiaomi Mi 5c is also known as Xiaomi ‘Meri’, and if previous rumors and leaks are to be believed, this smartphone will come with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, while it will pack in 3GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage. The device will probably ship with the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor, which is Qualcomm’s mid-range chip, and you can also expect to see a 12-megapixel camera utilized on the back of this smartphone. An 8-megapixel shooter is said to be available on its front side, while Android Marshmallow or Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, depending on when Xiaomi plans to launch the phone. One thing is for sure, Xiaomi’s MIUI 8 OS will come pre-installed on top of Android, no matter what variant Xiaomi opts to pre-install on the phone.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c is not the only phone Xiaomi is planning to release in the near future, the company is also expected to announce their Xiaomi Mi 6 flagship in the next couple of months, so do stay tuned for that as well, as that will be one of Xiaomi’s most popular smartphone in 2017, as was the case with its predecessors in previous years.
