Video games publisher Square Enix recently discounted its GO lineup of mobile games by 80 percent, so for the time being, you’re able to purchase Deus Ex GO, Lara Croft GO, and Hitman GO for $0.99. Additionally, the Tokyo-based entertainment company is also offering an identical discount on Hitman Sniper that can also be purchased for $0.99 as of this writing. There’s currently no word on how long this promotion will last.
The firm’s GO titles are spin-offs of its popular console and PC franchises that were all designed as diorama-styled turn-based puzzle games. Following the huge success of Hitman GO back in 2014, Square Enix decided to release a similar reimagining of the Lara Croft series in 2015 and followed up on it with a Deus Ex mobile game last year. All three games were praised by both critics and consumers alike and some of them were even ported to other platforms following their mobile debuts. Due to the success of this concept, Square Enix may release another GO game later this year. While the gaming community is waiting for Final Fantasy GO or a similar title, anyone who still didn’t play the previous three games can do so for less than three dollars in total. While all of the discounted GO games feature in-app purchases, their microtransactions only act like cheats for impatient players who are stuck on a certain level and want to progress further without beating it. Hitman Sniper also features in-app purchases, though some of them provide players with weapons that would otherwise be unobtainable.
Hitman GO, Lara Croft GO, and Deux Ex GO are relatively resource-friendly games that don’t require a high-end phone to run well. On the other hand, a non-flagship phone may struggle with Hitman Sniper, so note that you may experience longer load times and some frame rate drops if you’re playing this game on an older device. Luckily, the Google Play Store’s refund policy allows you to try out the game for a few hours and uninstall it if you’re not pleased with its performance while getting a full refund, no questions asked.
