TechDroider has just shared the first Korean Galaxy S8 teaser via Twitter. In addition to a ton of rumors and leaks when it comes to the Galaxy S8, we now finally get to take a look at the video teaser for the phone. You can expect to see more leaks in the following week, as the Galaxy S8 launch event is 8 days away at this point, the device will launch on March 29th, which is something Samsung confirmed during this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
That being said, if you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll get to see the aforementioned teaser, at the beginning of which, Samsung emphasizes the number 8. The teaser itself shows off a Korean actor who comes to a door which has the shape of the Galaxy S8 (based on leaks), their corners are curved. After said actor opens the door, he gets to see Earth, space, an astronaut… this is obviously supposed to symbolize ‘Galaxy’. That’s pretty much it, after that Samsung only shares an image they teased during MWC, regular ‘Unbox your phone Galaxy’ teaser that image that we’ve seen earlier. So, this teaser doesn’t exactly share all that much info about the device, but that’s why it’s a teaser, nothing else. Now, you may notice that Samsung mentions March 30th in this teaser, not March 29th, well, that’s due to the time difference, as this is a teaser for the South Korean market.
The Galaxy S8 launch is a given at this point, and the Galaxy S8 Plus will probably launch alongside the regular variant. The two devices will be identical in pretty much every way, except in terms of size, as a result of which, the larger Galaxy S8 model will sport a larger display and a larger battery. The Galaxy S8 will be fueled by either the Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895, depending on the market. The device will ship with Android Nougat out of the box, on top of which you’ll get Samsung’s custom UI. Speaking of which, Samsung’s ‘Bixby AI’ assistant will come pre-installed on the device, as Samsung announced it yesterday. The Galaxy S8 will be made out of metal and glass, and it will ship without a physical home button this time around. Get ready to check out some additional leaks in the coming week, and chances are Samsung will release a couple of teasers as well.
