Is an unconditional refund option for the Galaxy S8 coming? Well, it is according to a new report that surfaced in Korea. According to ‘The Investor’, Samsung will launch a large-scale marketing campaign for the Galaxy S8, and as part of that campaign, the company may offer the Galaxy S8 customers unconditional refunds after up to three months of use. Sounds great? Well, yes, it does, but there are a lot of questions that pop up, luckily the source released some additional info, read on.
So, how would this work? Well, in theory, you would be able to purchase the Galaxy S8 from Samsung, and use it for up to 3 months, and then simply return it if you don’t want it any longer, even if the device is perfectly fine. This would be an amazing option for Samsung’s customers, though it remains to be seen if it will happen in any way, shape or form, as it sounds too good to be true. Now, such commodity would probably be available only if you purchase the phone directly from the company, and not through a third-party seller, but we’re still not sure how would Samsung manage something like that. This Korea-based tech giant will sell a ton of Galaxy S8 units, that much is obvious, and it seems like the company would lose quite a bit of cash if they allow unconditional device returns, presuming that a full refund is included, of course. They’d end up with a ton of used devices which they’d have to refurbish and then sell for a lower price tag, which doesn’t really sound feasible.
The Galaxy S8 will be announced on March 29, and along with it, we’re expecting to see the Galaxy S8 Plus as well. The two devices will sport 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch displays, respectively, and both will come with Android Nougat out of the box, with Samsung’s custom UI on top. That being said, these two devices will be identical in terms of the design and even specs, well, the Galaxy S8 Plus will be larger and have a larger battery pack as a result, but that’s it. A 12-megapixel snapper will be placed on the back of the Galaxy S8, and so will the phone’s fingerprint scanner.
