Uber has updated their app for their Drivers with built-in navigation, at least on the Android side of things. Over on iOS, they have had built-in navigation for quite some time, but it was not up to par. Uber has now rebuilt the entire navigation part of their app, and it’s available in the Uber Driver app on both Android and iOS. The whole reason for this update was to make it easier for drivers to navigate to where they need to go without having to jump between the Uber app and other navigation apps like Google Maps. Seeing as this app is built specifically for Uber drivers, it makes it easier to get to the destination without being stuck in traffic or running into construction.
This update isn’t just helping drivers get off of Google Maps and stick to the Uber app, but it’s also meant to enhance the experience of Uber overall. Making things a bit more streamlined, not just for drivers, but passengers as well. This is going to help drivers delivering for UberEATS get to their destination faster as well. Allowing them to pick up and drop off more passengers in less time, and that will give them the ability to make even more cash. The interface overall, in the updated app is much cleaner, especially in the navigation side of things. That is to allow the user to see more of the navigation and less of the actual interface. Uber also has day and night modes, so this way when drivers are out driving at night, they aren’t blinded by the bright white color scheme of the app.
Uber may not have their self-driving cars ready just yet, although they are coming along nicely, but they are working to streamline the entire system of drivers, and passengers. Which is also an important part of their system. Seeing as customers are more likely to come back to Uber if they have a great experience and get to where they are going fairly quickly. Which is what Uber definitely wants, and what has made them successful already.
