LG had introduced their new flagship, the LG G6, in Barcelona a couple of days ago, and the phone’s first scratch test has just surfaced online. If you take a look at the video that is embedded down below, you’ll get to see some use a knife in order to scratch the back side of the LG G6. Now, as you probably already know, glass is placed on the back of the LG G6, and it seems the phone is able to hold its own when it comes to scratches, at least its back side can.
Whoever used that knife tried to scratch the LG G6 for about 20 seconds, but the phone did not show any scratch marks after its back side was wiped using a napkin or something of the sort. Truth be told, this seems to be a regular restaurant knife, but should be plenty enough to scratch the LG G6, which did not happen. Now, for those of you who didn’t know this, Corning provided the glass on the back of the LG G6, same goes for the glass on the front side of the phone, and also on its camera lenses. On the back of the phone, you’ll find Gorilla Glass 5, which is quite resistant to scratches, and this video proves that yet again. Gorilla Glass 4 is placed on top of the LG G6’s display, and Gorilla Glass 3 is used on the phone’s camera sensors. It remains to be seen how scratch-resistant will the LG G6 be in day-to-day real life use, but the phone passed this test with flying colors.
The LG G6 is LG’s new flagship made out of glass and metal, and it comes with the company’s new FullVision display which comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9. We’re looking at a 5.7-inch QHD panel here, and the phone also packs in 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of native storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 64-bit quad-core SoC fuels the LG G6, and a 3,300mAh battery is included on the inside of this phone, and it is not removable. The LG G6 comes with extremely thin bezels all around, and there are two camera sensors on the back, two 13-megapixel shooters, in fact. Android 7.0 Nougat comes pre-installed on the LG G6, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find LG’s very own UI called LG UX 6.0. Click here if you’d like to access more spec info.
