The Xiaomi Mi 6 is one of the most anticipated flagships this year, and a new rumor has just surfaced, claiming that the phone will launch later than expected. The Xiaomi Mi 6 has been surfacing like crazy over the last couple of weeks, and it was initially rumored to launch on April 11th, then April 16th surfaced as the possible launch date, and today’s rumor claims that the launch event has been postponed yet again, this time to April 18th. We cannot confirm this, as it comes from an unknown source out of China, based on the source article.
It is becoming rather obvious that the company will announce the Xiaomi Mi 6 next month, as more or less every rumor in the last couple of weeks has mentioned April as the launch timeframe for the device, in one form or the other. The Xiaomi Mi 6 has surfaced in a number of renders thus far, though many of those renders differed one from the other, so we really don’t know what to expect at this point. Most rumors agree that the phone will be made out of metal and glass, though, while a ceramic variant of the device will, allegedly, also be available. IP68 certification was mentioned a number of times thus far, the phone’s SIM card tray surfaced, and rumors are also claiming that the Mi 6 will ship with an iris scanner, while the company’s teaser also suggested that.
Now, if rumored info is to be believed, we’ll get more than one variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6, the Xiaomi Mi 6 and Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus are both rumored, and their specs surfaced quite recently. As per leaked specs, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will sport a 5.15-inch fullHD display, just like the Xiaomi Mi 5, while the ‘Plus’ model will ship with a 5.7-inch fullHD panel. The smaller handset will be available in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, while the Mi 6 phablet will come in a 6GB RAM flavor only. Now, if the leaked info is to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will sport a 19-megapixel shooter (Sony’s IMX400 sensor) on the back, while the ‘Plus’ model will feature two 12-megapixel cameras (Sony’s IMX362 sensor). It’s hard to believe that Xiaomi plans to include different cameras on these two devices, but anything is possible, we’ll see what happens next month, if the company opts to release the Xiaomi Mi 6, of course.
