B&H Photo Opens Pre-Orders for Unlocked LG G6

While the LG G6 has been available at carriers for almost a month now, the unlocked model is not yet shipping. But B&H Photo has just put the unlocked model up for pre-order and says that it is shipping in mid-May. While there is still no concrete date available yet, mid-May is the best we have for the unlocked LG G6. And currently, B&H Photo is the only retailer selling the LG G6 unlocked, your only other option to get an unlocked model is to buy one at T-Mobile at full retail and then have it unlocked. This is the US997 model, which is technically the US Cellular model, but it does have the GSM bands, so it will work on AT&T and T-Mobile in the US without any issues. Best of all, there is no carrier bloat nor carrier logos on this device.

B&H Photo is selling the LG G6 in both black and platinum, and it’ll cost $599. That’s actually cheaper than most of the carriers, who are charging around $650 for the device, at full retail. Of course, eBay currently offers it at $579, but that price won’t be available forever. That’s a pretty good price for a pretty impressive smartphone, one that received our “Gold Standard” when we reviewed it last month.

For those that might need a refresher on the specs of the LG G6, we’re looking at a 5.7-inch 2880×1440 resolution display. This is a QHD+ resolution display, with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It’s the same size as the LG G5 from last year, but with a display that is half an inch larger. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. LG did keep the micro SD card slot, but did get rid of the removable battery. But we do have a 3300mAh battery inside, which seems to provide some pretty good battery life on the LG G6, so perhaps a non-removable battery isn’t as big of a deal on the LG G6 this time around. You can pre-order the LG G6 from B&H Photo using the link below, remember it won’t be shipping for a couple of weeks, so you’ll need to be patient a bit.
