Popular smartwatch community platform Facer announced a new tool to help watch owners get their daily fix of new watchfaces. The feature — called Daily Mix — acts as a slot wheel for watchfaces. It’s available for all Android Wear 2.0 and Tizen smartwatches supported by the latest version of the Facer wearable app.
Smartwatches can get boring pretty fast and the quickest way to breathe some new life into them is through new watchfaces. Facer has established itself as the go-to app up for smartwatch owners who constantly crave novelty. With a database of almost 20,000 different designs, it’s impossible not to find at least a handful of appealing options. Facer now wants to provide its users with a better way to discover new watchfaces that might otherwise go unnoticed. To get Daily Mix to do its magic, users simply have to tap on the watch three times and spin the Daily Mix wheel using the ten free tokens available on a daily basis that are replenished every 24 hours.
Last month, the app studio behind Facer, Little Labs announced that its smartwatch app finally hit the million-user milestone. Offering its services across all major smartwatch platforms, the app allows users to create their own working watchfaces through the Facer Creator tool and distribute them to users, which explains why the service is so popular among owners of all kinds of intelligent timepieces. Little Labs also noted that many of its amateur watchface designers have slowly started earning significant income thanks to its wearable ecosystem, but while virtually anyone can create watchfaces with Facer, Little Labs still requires designers to submit a portfolio of watchfaces for consideration if they ever hope to sell their designs via the Facer store. With more and more smartwatch products making their way to the market, there is always room for more watchface designers. Little Labs is also keen on expanding device support for Facer. With the last major update, Facer became compatible with smartwatches running Tizen OS including Samsung’s Gear S3 lineup, but also with Android Wear devices like the ASUS Zenwatch 3, Moto 360 Sport, and the Michael Kors Access product family.
