HTC U 11's New Video Teaser Is All About The Squeeze

HTC had already announced that their HTC U 11 flagship will launch on May 16, and the company has just released yet another teaser for the device. If you take a look at the embedded video down below, you’ll get to see a lot of hands squeeze a lot of different things. This teaser is all about the HTC U 11’s new feature, as per HTC’s last teaser, you’ll be able to squeeze the sides of this smartphone in order to perform certain functions. Now, we don’t know how exactly will this function just yet, but you will be able to interact with the phone’s sides, that’s for sure.

It is possible that HTC plans to let us customize those gestures that will be offered, and it is even possible that the phone’s sides will offer you different ways of interaction, though you’ll probably have to apply pressure on them either way, otherwise you’d be activating various functions every time you hold the device as you normally would. It remains to be seen how useful will HTC’s new way of interaction be, it is possible this will be a bit gimmicky, though it’s also possible that it will increase the usability of the phone, we’ll see. The HTC U 11, based on leaks, will resemble the HTC U Ultra quite a bit, but it will be considerably smaller, as the phone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch display. Speaking of specs, let’s see what did rumors say thus far, read on.

The HTC U 11 will be made out of metal and glass it seems, and you can expect to see a front-facing fingerprint scanner on this phone, which was the case with the HTC U Ultra, and also the HTC 10 which was the company’s 2016 flagship. The HTC U 11 will sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, while it will also pack in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage it seems. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel this smartphone, and the Adreno 540 GPU will be here for graphics processing. A 12-megapixel camera is expected to be included on the back of the device, and a 16-megapixel snapper will be placed on the device’s front side. A 4,000mAh non-removable battery will also be included here, and if rumors are to be believed, the HTC U 11 will be available in Black, Blue, Red, Silver and White color variants.
