Multiple Chevy & Vauxhall Vehicles Gain Android Auto Support

Chevy was one of the first car makers to go all in with Android Auto (and Apple CarPlay), offering it on just about every model in the 2016 year. Now they are expanding support to a slew of 2017 and 2018 models. Their sister brand, Vauxhall which is popular in the UK, is also adding support to a couple of new vehicles. These include the 2017 Amper-e and the 2017 Crossland X.

As far as Chevy is concerned, the 2017 Aveo, 2017 Bolt EV, 2017 Colorado, 2017 Cruze Hatchback, 2017 Onix, 2017 Prisma, 2017 Sonic, 2017 S10, 2017, Trailblazer, 2017 Trax, 2018 Equinox and the 2018 Traverse are all getting Android Auto support. Many of these vehicles are already on the road, so they will be getting updates to their MyLink system to gain Android Auto support. Some of these vehicles also already have the update (and Google is just a bit behind in updating their Android Auto website). But it’s nice to see Chevy and Vauxhall bringing a slew of new models to the Android Auto world.

Android Auto is available in most GM vehicles right now, and will be making its way to all of them (on all their brands) in the next year or two. With Android Auto, users are able to do things like use Google Maps for navigation, stream their favorite music from their favorite sources over the vehicles own speakers. Making it easy to use, and easy to listen to your favorite music. Android Auto also allows users to make and receive calls while in the car and keeping their eyes on the road, and lastly they are able to respond to messages in a number of supported apps. Some of these include WhatsApp, WeChat, Hangouts, Google Messenger and many more.

If you’re in the market for a new car and are wondering which models have Android Auto support, head on over to the Android Auto website (sourced below) to check out all of the latest vehicles that have support or will be getting support soon. There are hundreds of models (dating all the way back to the 2015 model year) that have support for Android Auto, so there are plenty of options available.
