A user manual for the upcoming Tizen-based Samsung Z4 smartphone was uncovered online, hosted by Samsung‘s own Download Center that offers product documentation to the company’s customers. The manual suggests that the handset will be labeled with the model number SM-Z400F, which is the same number that was already revealed by a Wi-Fi certificate that the company’s device based on its in-house Tizen operating system received from the Wi-Fi Alliance in late March. While the digital version of the manual doesn’t reveal a lot of new information about the smartphone, it does suggest that the Samsung Z4 will sport a dual-LED flash setup on its back. According to a schematic of the handset that can be seen below, the rear panel of the phone will host a single lens that’s situated between two LED flash units located to its immediate left and right. A loudspeaker is located right below that unconventional camera setup, while the main antenna of the handset is placed on the bottom of its back panel, the user manual suggests.
The Samsung Z4 will also be equipped with a front LED flash that’s located in the top left corner of its face, with the actual selfie camera of the device sitting in another corner across that unit, as evidenced by the schematic below. Previous reports about the handset have indicated that the Samsung Z4 will be the first smartphone that will ship with Tizen 3.0, and the newly uncovered user manual confirms as much by specifically mentioning Samsung’s mobile operating system and its dedicated Tizen Store on several occasions. While the document doesn’t go into many details regarding the internal hardware powering the phone, older rumors have indicated that the Samsung Z4 will be powered by a 2,050mAh battery and feature support for GPS and Bluetooth 4.0.
It’s currently unclear when and where is the South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer planning to launch the Samsung Z4, but seeing how its upcoming Tizen-powered device was already certified by the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Wi-Fi Alliance, its stateside launch seems inevitable. More details regarding the availability and pricing of the Samsung Z4 are expected to follow later this year.
