If the latest rumor from Weibo is to be believed, Xiaomi has no plans to introduce the Xiaomi Mi 6 Plus which has been highly rumored / leaked in the last couple of weeks. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was introduced last week, and its larger sibling was expected to land in the upcoming weeks, but if today’s info is anything to go by, that won’t happen. According to the source, Xiaomi is planning to release the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 later this year, and has no plans of launching a second large flagship, which means that the Mi 6 Plus is a no go.
That means that those of you who think that the Xiaomi Mi 6 is too small, and have been looking forward to a larger variant of that phone, might have to wait for the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 to land. The Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will offer a different design compared to the Xiaomi Mi 6, though, so that’s also something you should keep in mind. Now, if rumors are to be believed, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will be quite a powerful smartphone. That device is expected to pack in a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 6GB / 8GB of RAM (depending on which rumor you’d like to believe in) and 128GB / 256GB of native storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor will fuel this phablet, along with the Adreno 540 GPU for graphics processing. Chances are that the device will ship with an OLED display, and a dual camera setup on the back, similar to the one on the Xiaomi Mi 6.
Android Nougat is also expected to come pre-installed on the Xiaomi Mi Note 3, and it is possible that Xiaomi might pre-install MIUI 9 on the device as well, if they manage to release it by the time the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 lands. The device will probably be made out of metal and glass, just like the Xiaomi Mi 6 and the Mi Note 2, and you can also expect its display to be curved on the sides, which is also nothing new for the Mi Note line. That’s more or less it, new rumors / leaks will arrive in the coming weeks / months, so stay tuned for that.
