The OnePlus 5 just keeps on leaking out, well, at least its alleged prototype designs do. The OnePlus 5 has just surfaced yet again in two new images, and this device resembles the recently leaked prototype quite a bit, even though it’s a bit different. The dual-LED, dual-tone flash sensor which is utilized here is placed in-between the two rear-facing camera sensors here, while it is located below them on the prototype that was shared by Android Authority a couple of days ago.
Now, on top of what we’ve already mentioned, you will notice that the company’s branding is placed below the phone’s dual camera setup, and that the noise-cancelling microphone is located above them. The dual camera setup on this smartphone protrudes a bit on the back, and a power / lock key is placed on the right-hand side of this smartphone. The volume up and volume down buttons are located on the left, and as you can see, there are two sets of speakers grills placed on the bottom of the phone. We do not know if there will be a single speaker on the bottom, or two of them, these speaker grills can represent both scenarios, so… besides, it’s quite probable that this is not the final design of the device. Now, you will notice that the phone’s back sides is curved, and that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of this phone, and such a port was placed on the bottom of the OnePlus 3(T). It is possible that such a port lies on the top of the phone, but who knows, maybe OnePlus opts to ditch it altogether, we’ll see.
The company confirmed that this phone will be announced this summer, and chances are it will land in June, one year after its predecessor, the OnePlus 3. The OnePlus 5 will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, that much is obvious, and the device will pack in 6GB or 8GB of RAM on the inside. Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the phone, and on top of it, you’ll get OnePlus’ OxygenOS. None of these specs had been confirmed just yet, but rumors are pointing in that direction, but we’ll see what happens.
