Galaxy Note 8 Will Sport A Dual Camera Setup, Rumor Claims

The Galaxy Note 8 rumors have started a long time ago, and a new one just surfaced in Korea. This new report comes from MK News, a South Korea-based news outlet. According to the provided info, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be announced in the second half of the year, which is actually quite obvious at this point, and in addition to that, the source mentions that the phone will ship with a dual camera setup on its back.

Now, if this report is accurate, the Galaxy Note 8 might become the first Samsung-branded smartphone to ship with a dual camera setup. Do keep in mind that a recent rumor said that an upcoming ‘Galaxy C’ smartphone will ship with a dual camera setup as well, and that phone might launch before the Galaxy Note 8. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to launch in August, as the Galaxy Note 7 did last year, before IFA in Berlin kicks off, which will happen at the beginning of September. Needless to say, the Galaxy Note 7 was a complete failure for this Korea-based tech giant, the company had to recall Galaxy Note 7 units twice as the phone’s batteries kept ‘exploding’, and Samsung ultimately stopped selling the Galaxy Note 7. The company did start selling refurbished Galaxy Note 7 units quite recently, though, so that’s something. In any case, the Galaxy Note 7 left a huge hole in Samsung’s pocket, but more importantly, it also influenced Samsung’s reputation, so the company is expected to make it up to consumers this year with the Galaxy Note 8.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus flagship smartphones were introduced back in March, and Samsung actually managed to awe quite a few people with the design of those two phones. All in all, the company did a really good job with their Galaxy S8 flagships, and we’re expecting to see a similar design on the Galaxy Note 8 as well. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be made out of metal, while it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 in some regions, while the Exynos 8895 will fuel the device in some other markets. Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, and on top of it, you’ll get Samsung’s very own, custom UI. All in all, we’re expecting to see a ton more rumors in the coming weeks / months, so stay tuned.
