Two new press renders depicting the upcoming Huawei Nova 2 have leaked online on Monday, showing a bright blue and vivid green variant of the handset. The images have originated from China where the device is expected to be released later this month, according to a recent promo published by the Shenzhen-based consumer electronics manufacturer. No new information about the Huawei Nova 2 is revealed in these recently released renders, though the images that can be seen in the gallery below do corroborate several previously leaked details about the handset. Both pictures show the back side of the device, indicating that the smartphone will ship with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner located below a dual-camera setup that’s accompanied by a conventional LED flash placed in the top-left corner of the phone’s rear panel.
Furthermore, the new renders of the Huawei Nova 2 indicate that the upcoming smartphone will feature rounded case corners and be offered in a variety of colors, in addition to being promoted by Guan Xiaotong, a famous Chinese actress that’s often referred to as the “Nation’s Daughter” in the Far Eastern country. Xiaotong — also known by her English name Tracey Miley — was previously hired by Huawei as a domestic spokesperson for the Nova brand and was already heavily involved in the promotion of the original Huawei Nova that was released in late 2016.
According to previous reports, the Huawei Nova 2 will sport a 5.1-inch or a 5.2-inch display panel with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels and be powered by the Snapdragon 660, Qualcomm’s latest mid-range system-on-chip that was officially announced last week. The device is expected to boast 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage space that will be expandable via a microSD card slot by up to 256GB. The Huawei Nova 2 is also said to be accompanied by the Nova 2 Plus that’s thought to sport a 5.5-inch screen and otherwise be relatively similar to its smaller counterpart. While it remains to be seen whether all of the recent rumors pertaining to Huawei’s upcoming mid-range devices are true, more details on the matter should follow soon seeing how the Huawei Nova 2 series is scheduled to be unveiled on May 26.
