Several photos of promotional posters for the OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus have leaked online on Monday, having been revealed by an industry insider from China. The posters indicate that the Dongguan, China-based consumer electronics manufacturer is planning to offer its upcoming mid-range lineup in three variants – black, gold, and pink. Likewise, the latest leak corroborates some previous rumors regarding the specs of the OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus.
According to the newly uncovered information, the upcoming R11-series smartphones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 system-on-chip (SoC) and feature 64GB of internal storage space expandable by at least 128GB via a microSD card slot. The OPPO R11 is will boast a 5.5-inch display panel, while the OPPO R11 Plus is said to ship with a 6-inch one, both of which will be protected by 2.5D glass, feature the 16:9 aspect ratio, and support resolutions of up to 1920 by 1080 pixels, the latest leak suggests. The base model will be offered with 4GB of RAM and a 3,000mAh battery while the more premium handset will sport 6GB of RAM and be powered by a 4,000mAh unit. The two handsets will have identical primary cameras, their promos indicate, revealing that they’ll house a dual camera setup consisting of a 20-megapixel sensor and a 16-megapixel one. Likewise, the front cameras of the devices are said to be 20-megapixel affairs, and both phones should run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, enhanced with OPPO’s proprietary Color OS 3.1
The Chinese original equipment manufacturer (OEM) previously confirmed that it will unveil its next smartphone on June 10. While the company has yet to mention the OPPO R11 Plus in any official capacity, several industry insiders claim that the larger variant of the handset is scheduled to be released alongside the base model. OPPO is seemingly targeting its upcoming devices at the mid-range segment, the most competitive price range in the Far Eastern country. It’s currently unclear whether the OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus will eventually be released in more markets, though customers in the West will likely be able to obtain them through online resellers. More details on the company’s next pair of Android-powered mid-rangers will be available no later than next week.
