Lunar Gray Moto Z2 Play Shows Up In Leaked Render

Lenovo’s Moto Z2 Play has been leaked again, this time in a high-quality render showing off the Lunar Gray variant. Prominent leaker Roland Quandt, who surfaced an earlier picture of the device alongside its predecessor and the regular Moto Z, shared the double-sided render on Twitter, giving a full view of the front and back of the device. This year’s Moto Z2 Play has shown up in leaks before, and this design matches those previous leaks. The clean, industrial look pioneered by the original Moto Z and its Play variant have been replaced by a more organic set of clean, futuristic lines. The whole look is more in line with the unified design that devices like the Moto E4 and Moto G5 are sporting this year.

The Lunar Gray color variant of the Moto Z2 Play features a black glass front panel, flanked by glossy silver lining around the sides. A rounded rectangular fingerprint scanner is down below, while a speaker grille is up top. On either side of that, you’ll find the front-facing camera and a flash for it. Around back, this year’s model features a two-tone finish, with a dark gray edge lining the light gray that makes up the bulk of the back plate. That lining is where the back microphone resides. A single lens camera and its flash are in a camera  hump near the top of the device just like with last year’s Moto Z Play, the flattened Moto dimple is still present below that, and the Moto Mod connector closer to the bottom features a golden line right below it.

To recap, the Moto Z2 Play’s spec sheet is thus far rumored to consist of a 5.5-inch display at 1080p resolution, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor underneath it, flanked by 4GB of RAM and  64GB of storage. The battery is down to a 3,000mAh affair, while the rear camera is bumped up to a 12MP unit and the same 5MP sensor from last year adorns the front of the device. The spec sheet isn’t a huge upgrade form last year’s Moto Z Play, but this year’s device has slimmed down to match the Moto Z2.
