Four renders depicting a device that’s said to be the upcoming Moto G5S Plus were leaked online on Wednesday, showing a relatively standard Motorola Mobility-made smartphone with a dual camera setup on its rear panel. The handset was shown in four colors — Gold, White Gold, Gray, and White Silver — all of which were depicted from both the front and back. Apart from being the first dual camera phone made by the Lenovo-owned original equipment manufacturer (OEM), the Moto G5S Plus is also said to feature a metal body with a physical Home button that sports a fingerprint scanner and a 5.5-inch IPS LCD Display panel with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The primary camera setup integrated into the back panel of the handset is seemingly equipped with a dual-LED flash unit, while its front-facing camera is also complemented by an LED flash.
The upcoming mid-range handset is said to feature a 64-bit processor with eight cores that will likely be made by Qualcomm, though it’s currently unclear which particular piece of silicon created by the San Diego-based tech giant will be powering the Moto G5S Plus. Seeing how a possible Moto G5S was recently certified by the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) with the Snapdragon 430, it’s possible that Motorola will be shipping revised versions of the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus with the same chips, meaning the Moto G5S Plus could be powered by the Snapdragon 625. Apart from the fact that the handset will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, previous reports revealed no firm details about the device that was originally sighted earlier this month after Motorola’s entire product lineup slated to be released by the end of the year was leaked.
According to the same source that shared the first renders of the Moto G5S Plus that can be seen below, the upcoming smartphone will feature a standard 3.5mm headphone jack that will be located on the top of the device and is expected to be somewhat more expensive than the Moto G5 Plus that starts at $229. More information about the handset should be available in the coming weeks.
