A new render said to be of the OnePlus 5 has now shown up online and this one once again seems to highlight the inclusion of dual rear cameras. However, unlike the previous dual rear camera OnePlus 5 leaks, this one suggests the rear cameras will be positioned horizontally and not vertically. This is actually not the first render to come through suggesting as much, as earlier today more images (again said to be of the OnePlus 5) surfaced highlighting another two designs. Although both of which did also suggest the inclusion of horizontally-positioned dual cameras.
That said, even though this render seems to correlate with the two different designs that emerged earlier today, the latest one does also contradict the previous images somewhat. Specifically in the design employed to house the dual cameras. The previous images seemed to suggest the OnePlus 5’s rear dual cameras will be housed within a single camera cutout. While this latest image seems to suggest the opposite – that each rear camera will make use of its own cutout. Which combined with the previous images from today (as well as the ones that had come through before today showcasing a vertical dual rear camera layout), highlights the sheer variety of different designs that have been suggested for this upcoming smartphone so far. The issue here being that that not all of them can be right and determining which is correct, is easier said than done.
Cameras aside, the Oneplus 5 was also recently noted making an appearance on AnTuTu and as a result a number of specs are being suggested. If that listing is correct, then the OnePlus 5 will be announced along with 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. The same AnTuTu listing does highlight that the OnePlus 5 will come equipped with “16 MP + 16 MP” cameras, with the assumption being the front and rear cameras would both be a 16-megapixel camera. Although if there is a dual rear camera setup in play, there could be as many as three 16-megapixel cameras on offer, providing the front-facing camera is indeed a 16-megapixel offering. Either way, the only other notable aspects included in the AnTuTu listing were Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), and a 1920 x 1080 resolution display, once again.
