OnePlus 5 Prototype Leaks With A Dual Camera Setup

The OnePlus 5 prototype has just surfaced, following a ton of leaks and the recently surfaced design sketches. Now, this image was shared by Android Authority, and the source claims that this is not the final design of the OnePlus 5, but is one of the prototypes OnePlus created. OnePlus, allegedly, decided against using this design, and has changed it to an extent, but this design does provide some insight as to what the company was thinking about while designing the OnePlus 5.

As you can see, this phone is made out of metal, and even though we only get to see the back side of it, it’s quite revealing. The back side of this phone actually resembles the design OnePlus used last year for the OnePlus 3(T), though this phone comes with a dual camera setup. Pretty much every leaked image that has surfaced thus far showed off the OnePlus 5 with a dual camera setup on the back, which probably means that the final unit will sport two main cameras. Now, the source also mentions that the OnePlus 5 will be more expensive than its predecessors, the source actually says that “we’re in for a significant price hike this year”, which does not sound good at all. Having said that, the source did not provide any additional info when it comes to the phone’s specifications, so we can only guess what will its specs look like at this point, though thanks to a ton of rumors, we do have a pretty good idea as to what to expect. Before we dive into its specifications, it’s worth noting that the OnePlus 5 could cost over $600, according to the source, around $650, in order for OnePlus to “signal competitiveness with the biggest brands”.

Now, as far as specs are concerned, the OnePlus 5 will probably ship with a 5.5-inch fullHD or QHD AMOLED display, along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat will come pre-installed on the phone, along with OnePlus’ OxygenOS skin. A front-facing fingerprint scanner is expected on the OnePlus 5, and its battery will be larger than 3,000mAh, but we don’t know its exact capacity at the moment. All in all, the company had confirmed that the OnePlus 5 is coming ‘this summer’, so stay tuned, chances are OnePlus will launch its new flagship next month.
